About Michael Coleman Jr.

Michael Coleman, Jr. was born and raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan. With parents that both had businesses, it did not take long for Michael’s entrepreneurial spirit to surface. Michael started his first small business while in the sixth grade (you can read about it in his book) which super charged his desire to own his own businesses.

In 1989 after graduating from Willow Run High School, Michael attended Alabama A & M University majoring in Business Administration. Finding that college was not what he expected, Michael left college to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions.

In the late nineties Michael launched an internet marketing and website development company, ironically by mistake.

While watching the financial news in November of 2003, in particular the jobs numbers, the idea for a book came to him. He thought to himself, “there are a lot of people out of work, what are they going to do? Someone should help them… they are downsized, now what.” Several months later he decided to write the book which is entitled “Downsized…How to prepare for it and how to survive it.”

Michael Coleman Jr. is a long time philanthropist, entrepreneur, private pilot and author. Michael currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and daughter.
